11/10/2022 0 Comments Guitar rig vs amplitube 3![]() ![]() GR and the PODs also have their VST complements - POD with a dongle (which the Axe-Fx may also have sometime down the line for a VST version), and GR with just a soft key (though I think that's changed many times over the years). It is made with better quality audio components, has better support, a great community for additional support (I know the POD does as well), amazing flexibility in routing configurations that you just can *not* get with the POD, and a faster processor to support higher-quality algorithms that are continually being refined (often as a result of direct community feedback).Ī detractor or advantage, depending on whether you plan to do more gigging time or more studio time or a split of both is the fact that the Axe-Fx is a 2U rack hardware unit. The Axe-Fx is more expensive, because it is better. It's actually been riding around in the back of my car for the past few months since I was going to indefinitely lend it out to a friend, but he decided he didn't really have the time for it and I haven't bothered to take it out of my car again. The only time it's been turned on since owning my Axe-Fx (coming up on a year) was just to test out L6's POD Farm plugin when that first came out. (I'm mostly using Absynth, Battery, and Akoustik Piano out of that pack so far - and they go and discontinue AP!?. ![]() I turned it on once, tried it for a few hours, and then forgot I owned it until now. I bought the Komplete 5 suite back when it was going for $400, and GR is included in that. Thanks for posting that GR was a NI app, Dutch. fact is that most of the FX in the Axe are REALLY good. i orderd 2 atomicsFR and maybe that will be my new way to amplify. You also can go directly to foh so it saves a lot of money or go FRFR. controller lets say 1000 euro,s again( can be way cheaper depands what you want). WAY better.įor me the louder the Axe goes, the better the party getsįWIW i don,t use my amps anymore because i like the Axe so much better, but for me the downside is that it is not cheap but the hell with that with new toys The AXE imho may not be compared with this stuff. I have had some modelers, boss gt6 / 8, vox tonelab, (digitech gnx300 which sucked bigtime) but all of them where fun at home, not really good ,but on loud volume they all sucked for me. If i compare with my knuckle it cuts less through the mix but my marshall does that also, but i like the sound way better than my amps and specially in stereo its a wall of sound. ![]() I love my axe for home use and live use but so far for band/live use i have the best results with a VHT 2/50/2 and 2 marshall vintage 30 cabinets. Im very interested in any comments from users with experience with other gear such as guitar rig but any feedback is greatly appreciated.įirst of all i am not a addicted to tubes so take that in mind (i just want good tone) though i have had and have some really nice tube amps, right now i only have left the Rivera knucklehead and a marshall 6100. Is it really better at modelling amps in comparison to guitar rig? I have some experience with guitar rig and PODs, they never quite did it for me, but then again they didnt cost nearly as much. It sounds too good to be true, that i would be able to replace my whole rig with one of these babies. However, Im not yet totally convinced about its use as an amp sim (i know technically it's not, but it seems many of you use it as one) From reading the forums and reading up on the unit, it seems that its an excellent piece of kit for the effects, delays, reverbs, modulations, pitch shifting etc and I have been strongly convinced that it is of the highest quality in this department. Im interested in how it compares to other modellers out there such as guitar rig as this is one of the main things i would be using it for. I have been tempted by an axe fx for quite some time and I've been lurking in the forums for a while just to get a better idea of what it can do. Apologies for another one of these threads but please humour me. ![]()
